The fence is up and what a blessing it is! the dogs LOVE running outside with some freedom. You can see them smiling. It also comes as a huge relief for our walkers, especially during bad weather. Thank you again to Nancy Burden and her group and anyone else who donated to the fence fund. We would like to announce the hiring of JoAnne Smith as our full time Director/Humane Officer. She has been an enormous relief to the daily volunteers. Welcome JoAnne! Our walkers continue to show up in all sorts of weather (thank you). We have ordered "Gentle Leader" collars to help stop the pulling. If you are interested in walking dogs, please contact the shelter. Our cats have hit the lottery. Every Friday and Saturday, two brothers and two sisters (from different families) come to play with all of the cats. All animals, the human kind and the furry kind, have a blast. A big THANK YOU goes out to the parents of volunteers under 16 who take the time to bring their children out to the shelter to help.
